Early Holiday Present For Travelers: Free Wifi on Virgin America Thanks to Google

Google Virgin America WifiI love wifi access when I’m traveling and will go out of my for companies that provide it to me for free.  So Google sponsoring free wifi on Virgin America flights this holiday season is a present just perfect for folks like me.

Google and Virgin America are teaming up to bring you free in-flight WiFi on every Virgin America flight from November 10, 2009 through January 15, 2010.

Bring a WiFi-enabled laptop or mobile device and stay connected for free during your flight. The service is available on Virgin America serving the cities listed below. We hope the service makes your holiday travel a little easier.

Fortunately there’s no travel in my holiday plans this year, but that means I won’t be able to take advantage of the offer.  Ah, well. However, if you are flying somewhere that Virgin America travels over the next couple of  months this is just another reason to fly the amazing airline Virgin America.

UPDATE – Google is also providing free wifi at 47 airports and is running a contest for anyone who uploads a picture (on Picasa presumably) of themselves using it.  Google has a full list of the airports where free wifi is available and details on the photo contest.
