Since discovering TwitterLocal on Friday I’ve been checking it consistantly. TwitterLocal is a site that aggregates the tweets from a given local; for example my hometown of Cambridge Mass. This is an awfully good way to find like-minded folks nearby, but it also has a leaderboard of the Top Tweeters by the number of tweets. Now I’m obsessed!

I started watching twitters within a 5 mile radius of Boston, but found that I was no match for the folks there churning out 176 tweets a day. So I set my sights a little lower and settled on Cambridge, which is where on Twitter I identify my location as. I can keep up with the level of twitter activity from MIT and Harvard folks and cracked the top 10 easily.

Aside from the vanity of this I’ve found some new interesting people on Twitter and it has prompted me to twitter more often. A little competition will make a better twitterer of me.
