Google PPC Growing Rapidly

GoogleWhile yesterday’s Q3 earnings report that showed 46% profit increase is staggering in itself, George Reyes stated that “aggregate paid clicks grew approximately 45% over Q3 of last year, and increased approximately 5% over Q2.” Wow, 45% growth in a year for SEM alone!

That reinforces Marketing Sherpa’s report on the pressure that growth of SEM is exerting on advertisers. More people getting into SEM and greater percentages of advertising budgets being put toward search are increasing bids and driving revenue for Google. I’d love to know if the number of clicks are increasing too and therefore what the cost-per-click inflation rate at Google is.
