It’s way, waaaaaaay better than the native application if you use BIS, as opposed to BES.

With BIS, you can’t sync with Outlook.

But start using Gmail, and your inbox is in perfect sync on your computer and your BB.

You can actually manage your inbox from your BB!

Amy – I haven’t had that issue at all, but clearly that makes it unusable for you. Have you ad similar locking up with other applications when uploading?

I have to say that I’m not crazy about it for the simple fact that I can’t send an email from it that has over 3 or 4 lines of text. It locks up my data connection every time, doesn’t keep it in drafts, so I have to a) lose what I typed and b) uninstall it to get my internet connection to work again. Once gone everything works fine. I used it on my curve and I cannot recommend it at all.

OK thanks, I always wonder if I am missing something, but in this case I think not. My personal and professional are intertwined, but in I can really see the benefits when working for someone else.

Paul – I use both Gmail and the native BB mail client in order to manage personal versus company correspondence. I don’t think that the Gmail app provides any significant benefit over the native mail client (the native mail one is actually better because it can send attachments). Using 2 email apps works for me, but I can’t give you a reason to switch.

Thomas, I have tried Gmail on BB a couple of times, but for the life of me, I can’t find the benefit over the native BB mail client. I use gmail for about 90% of my emailing, on BB and Mac. Please, if there is a reason to get more function with gmail installed on BB, tell me and I will give it another try.

I am a heavy user of G-Chat and those conversations appear in my BB inbox, just like SMS and other messages.

What am I missing?
