Let me make sure that I understood what you did.

Got your Godaddy domain

Set up Gmail to receive your Godaddy emails

Sent test emails to your Godaddy domain

Received no emails through Gmail

If that is correct then the first thing that you need to do is check all of the set up information and passwords to ensure that you input it correctly. Really check it, don't just assume that you did, really check. Consider reentering all of the passwords.

With that all checked, next send an email from a third party account (not your Godaddy domain email nor your gmail email) to both of those accounts and then open each account to confirm that you received each of those emails in the respective accounts. If so then you know that each account is receiving email. If you don't get those emails then you know that you have an issue with your email setup for one of those accounts and you need to fix that.

After that I am a bit at a loss. I'll need more information from you about an error or something to make it work.

Other people have commented on it taking awhile for email to begin coming through and I suspect that is the issue with you, I hope that you have gotten your email by now.

I went through the process of setting up GoDaddy email on GMail. The checking email through POP3 is still "checking mail" after 40 minutes. Is it because there are many, many emails from the GoDaddy account to be transferred? any other reason?

Patience is a virtue which I obviously didn't have with this work. The emails came through since I wrote the first coment. Thanks for the wonderful explanation.

I did the steps in your setup and it wonderfully. One issue came up that I wondering about--the last 200 messages in my godaddy account are not there. In gmail setup it says that 200 messages were fetched......good--but they are not in my gmail either. Any suggestions?

Man, this is perfect! Thanks for putting this together.

For everyone receiving the "Your other email provider is responding too slowly" error, make sure your SMTP server box says exactly "smtpout.secureserver.net"

You may need to change the box's default to say "smtpout.secureserver.net"

Mark - I believe that you cannot import an IMAP account into gmail, but you can use IMAP to import a gmail account into another email client. Let me know if I am wrong about that.
