The Twitter spamming spree last week drew my attention to another reason why linking your Twitter feed to Facebook is not a good idea. Plenty of other people have already written about how your Twitter followers and Facebook friends are two unique audiences and while their interests may overlap you should customize your status updates on each channel.

Last week’s Twitter spam exposed another issue. Spam.

Clearly this item that appeared in my news feed is spam whether on Twitter or Facebook, but because of the nature of Facebook status updates feel more personal and therefore the spam is a greater violation when it appears on Facebook.  If you are importing your tweets into Facebook this illustrates another reason why you need to stop.
